Seasonite – Protects and Waterproofs New Wood While Preventing Splitting

Seasonite is specially formulated to protect new timber during its first year of weathering, helping to minimise splitting, warping and moisture damage.

It stabilises new wood while allowing it to weather naturally, creating the ideal surface for future coatings.

• Reduces greying and weathering while preparing timber for future finishes.
• Ideal for pressure-treated softwoods and most hardwoods (except oak).
• Helps minimise splitting, warping, cracking and cupping.

Properties

• Penetrates deeply to protect against excess moisture while allowing the wood to breathe naturally.
• Helps reduce splitting, cracking, warping and cupping caused by sun and rain exposure.
• Clear, colourless treatment that is simple to apply.
• Reduces greying and weathering while preparing the surface for recoating.
• After 6–12 months of weathering, provides an ideal surface for paint, wood stain or other exterior finishes.

Where to Use

• Ideal for softwoods including Pine, Spruce and Cedar, especially pressure-treated timber.
• Suitable for both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
• Recommended for decking, shakes, shingles, cladding, fencing and unfinished outdoor furniture.
• Apply to dry timber before or after installation.
• Not suitable for weathered wood.

Application

• Ensure the timber is clean, dry to the touch and free from dirt or stains.
• Shake well before use. Do not dilute.
• Apply one generous coat using a brush, roller or garden sprayer.
• Ensure the product flows between boards and thoroughly saturates all end grain.
• When treating shakes or shingles by dipping, soak for approximately 10 minutes and allow excess product to drain.
• After 6–12 months of weathering, clean the timber with Net-Trol before applying Textrol or another suitable finish.
• Refer to the product packaging for complete application instructions.
